We've been in this business a long time and have clients that are still learning from us 40 years since their first lesson! Some are bringing their teens and young adult children. And some are just getting into the fun of foiling.
My wife and I had our first clinic with Andy in Aruba in the 1990s where I did my first monkey jibe.... Then we had some amazing family clinics in Bonaire in the 2000s where I did my first vulcan on video and the whole family got better too. I’ve made too many improvements to completely list here. What really counts is that Andy has motivated me and my family to a life of developing skills in passion for
wind sports.

I love their passion for the sport and for teaching. They were genuinely excited for you when you accomplished something new. I feel the 5 day course was worth every penny considering how much I learned. I will return once I get some more time on the board to practice everything we covered.

I've always been a private instruction type of person so I was unsure about a clinic setting. I had taken a private windsurfing lesson from Andy in the past and knew for sure that I wanted to learn from him so I gave it a try when the timing worked out. Best decision ever. I learned so much from observing and listening to the instruction of the whole group plus everyone was so much fun!

I did a 3-day camp in the late '90s before having babies and decided to try it again now that I am an empty nester! So fun and the best way to keep fit - windsurfing works out every muscle in my body. I appreciate the community and just want to keep coming back -and get better.

“…..I finally made real strides in my progression. I went from never gybing to gybing back and forth, heel side, toe side, both ways, and finally not spending the end of every turn in the water. They even lent me good gear, which was a real game changer too.... They got me having an enjoyable time on the water and for that I owe them nothing but kudos. The value as the old credit card commercial, is priceless….I learned that this is really a tribe--folks come back every year-- like clockwork from all over the West Coast and Texas just to be in the shadow of Andy and now, Mike, for foilers. The other guys are cool too….constantly insisting on the good habits which never seem intuitive. It is probably fostered by Andy to be cool, but do the right thing. …. you'll see random locals kiters and foilers as well as windsurfers ride by him and give him the high five or the bulls horns bidding him respect as if the Dali Lama of the wind. It must be some Zen thing going on and I cant explain why it works like DESCRIBING the taste of Jack fruit or mangos but trust me, once you TASTE ABK you too will be addicted-- savoring all the juices of your improved enjoyment.
Thanks to Andy and Tom – I can windsurf again! I stopped windsurfing about 16 years ago after having my daughter. Could this 58 year old mom actually get back up and planning again? In just one ABK 3 Day Clinic, Andy’s enthusiastic coaching and precise instructions gave me the skills and confidence to windsurf better than I’d even done before! Now my daughter and I are planning “Sail Chi”dates to perfect our tacking and jibing skills. I was amazed at how Andy‘s team could help each and every one of us meet our goals, in our diverse group with people of all ages, skill levels, and fitness. I would highly recommend taking an ABK class or clinic to meet any on the water goal from beginner to shredder. Sailing with ABK truly is a great day(s) on the water!!!
